Privacy Policy
How OnDemand handles your information
Last updated: August 2026
1. Who we are
OnDemand ("OnDemand", "we", "us") operates a web app connecting Clients with independent, verified trade service Providers (plumbers, electricians, masons, and similar trades) in Kingston & St. Andrew, Jamaica. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
2. What we collect
- Account information: name, email, phone number, parish, and profile photo.
- Booking details: job description, job address, scheduled date, and any photos you attach to a service request.
- Provider verification documents: a government-issued ID and either a certification (e.g., HEART/NSTA) or a portfolio of past work, submitted by anyone applying to become a Provider. These are stored with restricted access, visible only to you and OnDemand Admin staff reviewing your application.
- Payment information: card payments are processed directly by PayPal. We never receive or store your full card number — only the amount, status, and a transaction reference.
- Location: we store your parish for search/matching. Your exact job address is only shared with a Provider after they accept your request, never while you're browsing.
- Communications: messages sent through in-app chat on a booking, and any emails we send you (booking confirmations, status updates, receipts).
3. How we use it
We use your information to:
- Operate the booking marketplace: matching Clients with Providers, and processing requests, payments, and reviews.
- Verify Provider identity and qualifications before they can appear in client searches.
- Send transactional notifications (booking status, payment confirmations).
- Investigate and resolve disputes between Clients and Providers.
- Maintain platform security and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Comply with applicable law.
4. Who we share it with
- The other party on a booking — a Provider sees your job address and description only after accepting; a Client sees the Provider's public profile.
- PayPal — processes card payments and payouts on our behalf.
- Our infrastructure providers — database hosting, file storage, and email delivery, acting strictly as data processors under our instructions.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by Jamaican law.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
5. How long we keep it
We retain account and booking data for as long as your account is active. If a Provider application is rejected, the submitted ID and certification documents are deleted after 90 days of account inactivity.
6. Your rights
Under Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw any consent you've given. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You may also lodge a complaint with Jamaica's Office of the Information Commissioner.
7. Security
All traffic to OnDemand is encrypted over HTTPS. Card details are entered directly into PayPal's secure payment page and never touch our servers. Verification documents are stored in access-restricted storage. Passwords are never used for login — accounts are secured via one-time email sign-in links.
8. Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for details on the essential cookies we use to keep you signed in.
9. Children
OnDemand is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes to this page and update the "last updated" date above.
